This page attempts to demonstrate a bug (or misfeature) in Netscape's implementation of plug-ins. It attempts to use a plug-in to display a file, while requesting that your browser not cache it. Nothing particularly odd about that, but the way Netscape uses cached files causes it to fail for some plug-ins. Even though it does not fail for all plug-ins, it is important to realize that it is the Netscape browser that is at fault here, not the plug-in.

If you use Crescendo to handle MIDI files (audio/midi), it is probably working fine. If you use Netscape's default LiveAudio plugin, you're probably seeing a really weird-looking error message telling you your disk cache may be too small (it's not).

This page contains the same plug-in, but allows caching.
