TO: All Lode Runner Fans FROM: Joel DeSelm RE: OVERLODE 15 For those of you who have been loyal puzzlers in the OVERLODE series, I thank you for your gaming enthusiasm. And I thank you for your many e-mail messages, suggestions, and exasperated inquiries. This is OVERLODE #15. You might be interested in knowing that as a result of this file, I have created over 400 Loderunner levels that are being distributed worldwide on the Internet. Not only have I had a good time creating these levels, it's because of avid puzzlers like yourself that I has enhanced my personal enjoyment. And so here we go once again. Who knows? This might be the last in the series. But for what it's worth, I introduce to you (drum roll, please) OVERLODE 15 !!! Chocked with dazzling colors, beautiful graphics, and the most frustrating Loderunner levels on the Web! These levels range from medium hard to extremely difficult in terms of skill level. I am learning that there are not too many die-hard Loderunner puzzlers out there who are experts. Most people are looking for the cheap and dirty thrill. I need to make a disclaimer: THESE LEVELS ARE NOT FOR AMATEURS !!! THEY ARE EXTREMELY CHALLENGING !!! I say that on behalf of those folks who e-mail me saying, "These are impossible! There is no way they can be conquered! You've must have left something out or made a mistake!" Not likely, friend. These levels have been playtested and checked out. They are all conquerable. They can all be solved. It takes creativity, patience, and a complete understanding of the game engine. As with many of the other OVERLODE levels already on the net, I'm confident that you will discover some things about the characteristics of this game that you never knew before. All of these levels have been carefully thought out. Some of them are downright cruel! For the uninformed, there are a number of things I purposely do NOT do in my levels. I do not create any "night" missions in that I feel they are unfair and don't add that much to the game. I also try very hard not to put alot sinking floors and hidden items in these levels. Rather, I stick primarily to solid puzzling and ingenious gaming. I think that you will be challenged for many hours. Another special feature in a number of these levels is a built in "HINT." Simply click on the tool bar icon at the bottom of the screen that has the capital letter "A" and it will bring up the hint screen. Click on the words and cursor along the sentence. I would encourage you not to "cheat" to solve these levels. What I mean by that is to simply go into the "edit" mode and see the entire level in its completed form. Only wimps do that. Play the levels on the "up and up" and only resort to the HINT or the "cheat mode" as a last resort. If you still can't solve the level as it stands, let me know. My e-mail address is: JOEL4IU@aol.com here on America Online. Happy solving and please upload some more of your own homemade levels for me to solve. P.S. To my good friend, Craig, who loves "Loderunner" as much as I do... Enjoy these levels. You are one of the few, the proud, who has conquered over 400 "Overlode" levels. Thanks for your constant encouragement and loyalty. I don't know of anyone else who has put the hours into this game like we have. Overlode #15 could be the finale. If so, it's been fun. If not, perhaps new Loderunner gaming levels are still out there to be conquered. Peace and grace.
