TO: All Lode Runner Fans FROM: Joel DeSelm RE: New Levels You know what? I beginning to wonder if I will ever run out of cool ideas for Loderunner levels. (I hate to even think of how many hours I've spent providing all your folks with enjoyment.) You know what might be nice? How about sending a nice cash gift as a token of your heartfelt appreciation? With the holiday season coming soon, I think it would be more than appropriate. (Hint, hint!!!!) Well, fans, here we go again. You know the old routine. But for those of you who haven't been following this wonderful series, welcome to the world of OVERLODE! This is OVERLODE number 14. By now, all of the novice players have been weeded out and you are, I'm sure, one of the few, the proud, the "professional" Loderunner fans. Only gluttons for punishment would have played this many OVERLODE levels and still come back for more. As before, in this file there are 25 new levels. They are ghastly, deadly, and exasperating! They range from medium to difficult in terms of skill level. As before, believe it or not, you will discover some things about the characteristics of this game that you never knew before. All of these levels are "conquerable" and carefully thought out. Some of them are down right nasty! There are a number of things I purposely did NOT do in these levels. I did not create any "night" missions in that I feel they are unfair and don't add that much to the game. I also tried very hard not to put alot of sinking floors and hidden items in these levels. Rather, I stuck primarily to solid puzzling and ingenious gaming. I think that you will be challenged for many hours. Another special feature (that many of you have indicated has preserved your sanity and kept your monitors from being smashed with hammers )is a built-in "HINT." Simply click on the tool bar icon at the bottom of the screen that has the capital letter "A" and it will bring up the hint screen. Click on the words and cursor along the sentence. In most cases it is practically a "walk through." It will cause you to mutter, spit, and look heaven-ward saying, "Now why didn't I THINK of that?!??!?!??! I would encourage you not to "cheat" to solve these levels. What I mean by that is to simply go into the "edit" mode and see the entire level in its completed form. Only wimps do that. Play the levels on the "up and up" and only resort to the HINT or the "cheat mode" as a last resort. If you still can't solve the level as it stands, let me know. My e-mail address is: JOEL4IU on AOL. I want to send special regards to the following avid Loderunner fans and personal friends I've made on the Internet. To Dick in Indiana: "Keep up your commitment to the games, pal! Perseverance will be honored!" To Craig in Ohio: "I admire your refusal to look at the hints and try to solve these things on your own. That's determination!" To Ellen in California: "Thanks for the encouragement! And try to spend more time playing and less time working so hard!" To Thomas in Vermont: "I TOLD you that those levels were able to be solved but NO-O-O-O-O-O... you wouldn't believe me."
