TO: All Lode Runner Fans FROM: Joel DeSelm RE: New Levels LODERUNNER PLAYERS OF THE WORLD, UNITE!!!! You have before you another of the famously frustrating "OVERLODE" series of Loderunner puzzles! This is OVERLODE number 11. If you are playing OVERLODE #11, you have distinguished yourself as an official "Loderunner" junkie. At this point, all of the "wimpy" players are fooling around with the amateur levels found elsewhere. However, YOU, my friend, are one of those strange souls who stays up late at night desperately trying to conquer "just one more level before I go to bed." Only the truly committed gamers would have lasted this long through all of this series. (By the way, if you have stayed with us through all eleven installments of this series, please let me know by e-mail. I will send you an official certificate commemorating your wondrous accomplishment that is suitable for framing. My e-mail address is JOEL4IU@aol.com) As in the hundreds of earlier levels, we have once again 25 new levels that will keep you entertained for hours and keep you from doing constructing things like mowing the lawn, doing homework, and discovering a cure for the common cold. I'm proud to announce that these new levels are even more challenging, ingenius, and clever than any previous levels in this series. (GASP! Is that possible?) Most of these levels are rather difficult. Not in terms of constantly being pursued and eaten by monks. Oh, no, it's not that simple. You'll be ticked off and frustrated because it will appear that "there is NO WAY this level can be conquered." Trust me. They are conquerable. As before, believe it or not, you will discover some things about the characteristics of this game that you never knew before. As in previous installments, there are a number of things I purposely did NOT do in these levels. I did not create any "night" missions in that I feel they are unfair and don't add that much to the game. I also tried very hard not to put alot of sinking floors and hidden items in these levels. Rather, I stuck primarily to solid puzzling and ingenious gaming. I think that you will be challenged for many hours. Another special feature (that many of you have indicated has preserved your sanity and kept your monitors from being smashed with hammers )is a built-in "HINT" feature. Simply click on the tool bar icon at the bottom of the screen that has the capital letter "A" and it will bring up the hint screen. Click on the words and cursor along the sentence. In most cases it is practically a "walk through." It will cause you to mutter, spit, and look heaven-ward saying, "Now why didn't I THINK of that?!??!?!??! I would encourage you not to "cheat" to solve these levels. What I mean by that is to simply go into the "edit" mode and see the entire level in its completed form. Only wimps do that. Besides, I've already thought of that trick and it probably won't help you anyhow. Rather, I would encourage you to simply play the levels on the "up and up" and only resort to the HINT or the "cheat mode" as a last resort. If you still can't solve the level as it stands, let me know. I will personally respond to any and all questions and even provide further hints and step-by-step solutions for you diehards. Once again, my e-mail address is: JOEL4IU on AOL. Enjoy yourself. P.S. And to my good friend, Craig, who loves these levels I create I want to send special greetings. HI CRAIG!
