This utility is not for people who exclusively use Microsoft Internet Explorer. Actually, it's not for much of anyone. But here it is. Do with it what you will.

DefaultPluginPro is for Windows only. As of June 2002, it works in current versions of Netscape (3.x?, 4.x, 6.x, 7.x), Opera, Mozilla and Mozilla-based web browsers, and possibly other browsers that support Netscape-style plug-ins (but not any version of MSIE). It is intended for power users, and not for computer novices -- it does not even have an install program.

When you encounter a web page that may need a plug-in that you don't have, typically you see something like this:

** Click here to get the plug-in **

That's nice, but even in the best of circumstances, all it will help you do is try to locate an appropriate plug-in. What's obviously missing is a way to download and save the embedded document.

If you install DefaultPluginPro, what you will see instead is something like this:

Okay, so it's not actually professional-looking, but at least it's functional.

DefaultPluginPro is free software, licensed under the GNU General Public License.
